  2. Instructions for using LibMotoSh (Shared Library):

  4. In order to use the libmoto shared library, drag it onto your System Folder.
  5. Answer "Yes" when asked if you want the extension placed in the Extensions
  6. folder.  You do not need to restart your machine to use the library.

  10. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  12. LIBMOTO End-User's version replaces the following standard C functions:
  13.  
  14.     * cos              * exp
  15.     * sin              * pow
  16.     * log              * atan
  17.     * log10            * atan2
  18.     * sqrt
  19.  
  20. The versions of LIBMOTO available herein are provided "as is".  LIBMOTO is 
  21. for the Mac OS for PowerPC.
  22.  
  23. The end-user version (named "LibMotoSh") is a shared library that updates
  24. several functions from Apple's MathLib. When using the end-user version,
  25. many standard Macintosh applications that use MathLib will run faster
  26. automatically without any recompilation.

  28. The Motorola libraries do not replace the standard Apple libraries. When
  29. used in conjunction with the standard libraries, the Motorola libraries
  30. offer performance improvements.

  34. POTENTIAL BUGS AND CONFLICTS:
  35. =============================================================================
  36. Motorola's LIBMOTO web site describes potential problems related to LibMotoSh.
  37. In particular, changes to System 7.5.5 placed memory restrictions on LibMotoSh
  38. and various other applications, causing numerous errors.  System 7.6.x has
  39. removed those restrictions, however, and LibMotoSh is expected to run with
  40. few, if any, conflicts.
